January was a hard month to get through. And a long one at that.

Two car accidents, two parking tickets, sick for about two weeks, made a horrible first impression on the love of my life’s father, and people at work probably hate me.

The little angel sitting on my shoulder (or I’m going through schizophrenia) tells me to focus on the positive. “Remember your New Year’s resolution, April?”

FUUUUUUUUUCCCKKKKKKKK POSITIVITY.

I throw my middle fingers up at you.

But alas, February is a new month. Dear GOD please let it be better.

And since I have to set an example for you kiddies out there (all two of you who may come across this blog) I SHOULD in fact focus on SOMETHING positive.

The good things in January:

I spent a lot of time with someone who makes me very very happy ^_~ He is very special to me and I have never thought I could feel this way for someone before… I don’t think I ever HAVE felt this way for someone before O.o every minute with him is precious and yet hours seem too short. I find myself constantly thinking about him

Slimmed down on the hobbies! I am actually very proud of that. No spending binges to compensate for the empty spot in my life T.T Maybe because that spot is filled and overflowing XD <3

Awoke to the powers of caffeine. I have only been drinking coffee for about a week every weekday morning for work. Yesterday was the first day I have not had caffeine, and had about 5-6 hours of sleep. I thought I was going to go crazy T.T After work I came home and crashed for about two hours… >.< Until my alarm woke me up for Capoeira.

Ahhhhh… speaking of Capoeira. I always go into class feeling hesitant… with swirls of negative thoughts in my head. When I leave though, I am happy and proud of myself for putting forth more effort. And yaaaaaaay I get exercise hahaha. Who knew that nerdy comic artist/gamer/closet musician April would actually get off her ass and move… I’m getting my first belt in April! So excited XD

Those were the positive highlights. For February I hope to achieve several small goals.

Learn one song on the guitar by the end of the month. (Which requires me to actually make love to PLAY the guitar.)

Record one new video for a new youtube channel I am planning And plan some more collaborations with other artists! I definitely want to branch out to other genres of music, instead of just rock (which I love to death lol. But I need to broaden my horizons). I’m thinking jazz and pop most of all <3

Gain back healthy weight T.T

Numerous sewing related projects that need to be started on :V

Band activities, GO GO GO!!! My drummer got her drums! So excited to do jam sessions!!!

There’s more but I don’t want to give myself too many projects. Then it just seems like a chore, instead of something I enjoy.

Now I’m going to work on the healthy weight and then get 4 hours of sleep. Hahahaha.

…you must forget the negative. Very hard considering I’ve always been this way O.o

Is this going to be one of those New Year’s Resolution posts? The kind you intend to keep but never do? Yup.

Looking back I did have some pretty awesome moments, more so than the bad. I won two contests, $500 from Namecheap (my domain site people) and then free movie tickets to watch Tekken Blood Vengeance for me and a group of friends at the theater at Northgate from NAMCO. True I didn’t have any gamer friends available that day, but that’s why you ask your friends to bring their friends. Does that make any sense? Anyway I was the only one who enjoyed watching it lol. My friends and their friends probably just got a kick out of my fangirling.

(Note to self, force/bring fellow fanatics next time.)

Anyway, positive. Positive.

Braces really thinned out my facial structure >:D

Speaking of thin, I joined capoeira when I was at my most depressed state, a really good move. Natural endorphins are important ^^ But I lost way too much weight from braces and capoeira. Catching up on the nutrient loss >.<

I’m a little better at the accoustic. Not so much on the electric still DX

Finally got a haircut around… October? I look better with bangs apparently.

Hung out with and became slightly more social because of Sara. Also met a lot of random people on my own >.< Dangerous much? Not really, almost everyone I met this year was pretty awesome. I also met someone special because of that ^_~*

I got a lot of songwriting done. Found out what works, what doesn’t, and what is salvageable. Started collabs, ended collabs, and hopefully get the most important one finished by the end of the year

Aaaaaaaaaand now for New Year’s Resolutions (not in any particular order):

1. Upgrade to an adult wallet. Yes, goodbye Hello Kitty wallet(s). Hello Vivienne Westwood.

2. Become a far better capoeirista than I have been in the last few months

3. Become a better guitarist and vocalist

4. Work on the online comic I’ve been planning for years. Hopefully to post here, on drinkthegoddamntea.com

5. Cook at home more.

6. Explore all that Washington has to offer. I can’t believe I’ve been living here for like 6 years, and I haven’t been anywhere except Mt. Rainier and the Space Needle D:< Time to see the islands and swamps and stuff XD I’m thinking about making a zombie apocalypse movie…

7. Go to school: Probably going to start with some online courses. I won’t get to socialize, but eh what the hell. I need the schooling more.

8. Travel to another continent at least ONCE… I think 2012 is the year it’s going to happen

9. Consolidate hobbies – I have way too many

10. One more to even it out; BE MORE POSITIVE!

And that is all. I think these are all obtainable, just have to put forth the effort ^^

2011 had some hellish moments. I should probably reserve this post for New Year’s Eve, but I’m hoping to be optimistic by then (even though that seems pointless nowadays… *sigh*)

I think I want to be more honest and open with my feelings, even if it scares people away. Which is why I will continue this blog. I will make more video covers and original songs. I’m starting a new job and ending an old, very stressful one. I want to forget the past and move on to the present. Make memories with friends. Hopefully find someone to love and someone to love me back. God knows I’m supposed to be in my prime and here I am, the flower of my existence and the only time I was hit on was by a 70-yr old man. (FML)

Can the zombie apocalypse just happen right now, so that I can prove my worth as a survivor and put my video game skills to the test in real life?

This Saturday is going to be a super chill day. I hope.

Can Christmas and New Year’s never come? I don’t want to be reminded of cuddling couples who are so cute I want to strangle them, and starting a new year as a single person.

Anyway I had my work cut out for me when the shirt I bought from Sexpot Revenge arrived. I was swimming in it!!!

This is usually the case from me no matter where I buy from, I’m just too small to fit anything. If you tell me to buy children’s sizing I will literally come through your screen and hit you.

I usually have a little more luck when I buy brand lolita, but usually the bust or shoulder area and the length are always a problem for me. Well, if it doesn’t fit, MAKE IT FIT! That’s my stubborn belief anyway.

So I studied to see how this garment was put together, took lots of photos of seams and stitching for reference. I worked on one side at a time actually, most people wouldn’t do that haha. There was so much to be done; width, length, shortening chains, straps, recreating thumb holes, etc. After about three days of toiling, I had success!

Yay! I like how it fits much more now <3

Anyway…

My sister and bro-in-law recommended a particular Ibanez for my small hands, since I originally decided on a Daisy Rock guitar… but they told me for that amount of money I should get something more long-lasting and better sounding, so Ibanez was in my brain all weekend XD And this morning (err, afternoon) I got all dolled up just to go to Guitar Center >.< Played around for a bit with a few guitars (including the Ibanez I was seeking), got complimented by one of the store people (“I like your dress, it’s RAD!!” <333), didn’t end up buying anything but that was kinda the plan anyway… I was just trying them out to see if they would work, and eventually I will get the Ibanez <3 Probably next month.

And while trying to figure out with the roommate whether we would eat out for dinner today or just eat at home (decided on eating at home, *sigh*) I set up the ol’ tripod and decided to get a few outfits snaps.

Halloween is getting closer!!! Earlier on in the year I told myself I wanted to make a Lady Gaga costume, but that definitely did not happen hahahahaha. And earlier this month, I told myself I MUST goth out my room. My childhood friends have told me once that I remind them of Sunako, main character in the manga “Yamato Nadeshico Shichihenge” or better known as “Wallflower” here in the states. And out of curiosity when they had first told me that (I think that was at least 5 years ago?) I immediately went to go read it. OMG SHE IS ME!!! I thought. At the point in time I didn’t care about my looks much, my hair was growing out pretty long, I loved watching horror movies and had a developing interest in collecting things of the macabre type. And it was kind of a dream of mine to decorate my room like hers, only, with a little more décor.

Fast forward to earlier this month, and I thought “It’s Halloween soon! I wanna decorate my room like Sunako’s!” But not just for Halloween, I want my dark cozy bedroom enveloped in hazy fog-like lighting and skulls and candelabras and rococo furniture!!! I want to come home from my corporate-schmorporate job and unwind and watch horror movies in my little gothic hideaway!!!

Well…. it’s still in progress lol. I at least have gotten through with the planning stages, saved a lot of items to my wishlists. I’ve found Rococo-era replica furniture and and some more skull items; probably won’t be able to get my hands on an anatomical model or full-size skeleton since they will just take up too much room, and I’ll be downgrading to a studio in the spring.

Anyway… so that is still in the planning stages. I’m getting some time off near the end of the month for some major oral/dental work, so I think I will go crazy on the décor then XD

I think it’s because the weather is getting colder, but I’m really listening to more and more rock and metal (I mean I do anyway, but as of late EVEN MORE). What can I say. I’ve always been a rocker at heart. Even though my voice is very not >.< I just prefer rock over other genres. I think jazz and metal are tied for second, and pop would be last. I enjoy pop, don’t get me wrong, but if I were to perform, rock and metal would be the most exciting for me. I am not the dancing type (which is probably why I never got a call back from the first audition…), and to sing pop… well I just don’t get very excited. I’ve only been to two auditions, and I’ve had this whole OH GOD WHAT SHOULD I LOOK LIKE fiasco both times. First one I was like, well if I don’t show them what I like then I’ll be their little slave and have to dress in what they want. Second audition everyone kept telling me “look plain and be yourself!” ……… Yeah I think I was a little TOO plain then lol. And the first audition I think I sang rather well, save for being a little nervous on the third song I sang. Second audition I started too high… and well, sounded strained. But let’s not dwell on the past. I just don’t WANT to be a pop singer (both auditions were for Korean pop companies). And I am not built to be one. Though I have told myself I’d rather sing a genre I hate than be working in the corporate world like I am now… Who am I kidding? I can’t sing something I don’t get excited for. Professionalism or whatever, I just can’t. And I feel like I’ll be too difficult to work with in a genre I don’t care for.

And my dream of the stage just seems to be getting further away… I must work harder both at singing and at the guitar!!!

I felt like kiwidoll didn’t have enough personal flavor in it… I focused too much on lolita fashion and BJDs, and not enough of my personal feelings. I would like to occasionally write about my feelings and life happenings, being the emo star-struck weirdo that I am LOL.

Stay tuned for short comics drawn and colored by yours truly. And some updates on my music career dream (that’s not going anywhere at the moment LOL. I chose the wrong era to pursue music, *sigh*). I’m collaborating with an awesome guitarist/songwriter and we will be letting the grand public hear it soon!!! As soon as I get my butt into gear and finish the vocal melody/lyrics!!!

Also slowly learning guitar… one of my awesome buddies and I will be covering the Pokemon theme. We both share the dream of being on stage, and both have a passion for pursuing the guitar, so hopefully soon you will see us on a stage near you!!! XD “I wanna be~~~ the very best~~~ like no one ever was~~~”

So plans… I am joining my lolifriends and heading up to Canada this weekend!!! Ahhh it’s going to be so much fun XD We’re going to be riding a train, and we’ll be meeting some of the Canadian lolis! It’s going to be an awesome Loliday Just this past weekend my friend Nikki held a crepe meetup, and she made yummy crepes for us all to eat XD We played lolita pictionary and we fangirled over David Bowie while watching the Labrynth lol. After dinner we headed back to Nikki’s place and eventually watched Zoolander again!!! That movie never stops being funny lol. And David Bowie makes a cameo in it lol. Does he ever stop being gorgeous??? Did I mention my favorite song was “I’m Afraid of Americans” that Trent Reznor jointly made for him? (yeah only for the bajillionth time)

All righty. Countdown begins!!!

And so I thought the day would be good, the first song that played on my iphone this morning was “Lonely in Gorgeous” by Tommy February6 (I love that song lol). But it was interrupted by one of my bank customers spotting me and asking me a ton of questions about work, but what can you do, he’s an elderly man and one of my nicest customers ^^. Had to switch buses because ours broke down… and then work. Let’s not talk about my day job.

ANYWAY. Roommate forgot to pick me up and I had to wait for the bus. Didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes for my normal bus so took a different bus and walked halfway home. Felt like poo after walking for only 15 min (I’m out of shape) and finally got to my apartment building. My eyes met my landlady’s and she said “OH YOU WANT YOUR PACKAGE?” So she must have not seen my roommate come home early, *sigh* So I carried the HUGE box back to my apt and knocked on my apt door with my foot (lol) and set the box down. On to the important stuff, it’s what you want to see right? XD

AND THEN HOLY MOTHERLOAD. Two pairs of boots!!! The ankle boots I had soooooo coveted last year!!! (sure they’re in pink and I wanted white, but hell they’re cute!!!) AND THE ALICE AND THE PIRATES BOOTS. WHOA MAN. Small sizes must not sell or something lol. I really really got an awesome pack!

PURE AWESOME.

And the extra gifts it came with were the black Baby logo tote bag and the 2010 calendar! Cuteness!!! XD And of course I was curious to see how great of a deal I got… The luck pack sells for 12,000 Yen, plus shipping it was about 17,000 yen, and since the exchange rate bites it was about $191 total. I nearly fainted!!! The AaTP boots were nearly $400!!! (actually with the current exchange rate, over $400!!!) The BTSSB victorian ankle boots were about $250!!! For a grand total over $650!!! I got them for a steal!!! I really think I got the motherload of lucky packs!!! Whoever packed mine must have thought, “DUDE, this girl is getting the most awesome one! Whoever gets this is one happy person!!!”

And happy I am. Melted away all the work agony lol. Forget the fact I still have a cold. If the lucky packs are STILL going on I am tempted to get another (because I did want to get a pair of flats or cool platforms! So why not try again??? I wonder if they are still up… must go check…)

Now I’m off to eat my cold dinner lol. Got too excited for the blog post >.<
